The fifth issue of Helix, a free on-line magazine dedicated to publishing stories too extreme for regular print SF/F magazines, has just been published, with new stories by Esther Friesner, Brenda Clough, and others.
Locus, the newsmagazine of the SF/Fantasy field, has mailed their July issue, and posted a profile page about it on their website. The July issue includes interviews with Peter S. Beagle and Paolo Bacigalupi, results from this year’s Locus Poll, and lots of news and reviews.
Strange Horizons has an update every Monday, and this week is no exception; new this time is a story by Jerome Steuart and a poem by David Lunde.
SF Crowsnest has a new issue (# 164) for July, with reviews of books and movies, news of SFnal interest, and more.
Clarkesworld’s July update has the usual two stories, this time from Cat Rambo and Darren Speegle.
Green Man Review also was updated this week, with lots of new reviews of things that are green and things that are men. (And other stuff as well.)
SF Revu also has a new issue for July.
Issue 5 of Orson Scott Card’s Intergalactic Medicine Show has been posted. (This one, unlike most of the above, isn’t free, but it does have new stories by Peter Beagle, Eugie Foster, William John Watkins and others, plus a new Ender story from Card.)
