NYCC: The New ‘Dark Knight’ Trailer

NYCC: The New ‘Dark Knight’ Trailer

It was Day 2 at New York Comic Con and fans were practically jumping out of their seats with excitement as DC Comics Prez. Paul Levitz announced they would be getting to see, for the first time anywhere, the brand-spankin-new trailer for Batman: The Dark Knight. Unfortunately, Levitz told us we can’t tell you what happened in it, who appears in it or pretty much describe it in any way, shape or form on penalty of severe punishment.

However, here at ComicMix, we have no fear — plus, other sites like Wizard Online have already posted info on the trailer —  so we’re going to give you at least something to make you wish you’d been here at the Jacob Javitz Center in New York to see it.

What we can tell you is that it contained footage not seen before featuring several characters that have not appeared in past trailers for the film. Also, it has a lot of action, fights, bad guys, good guys, politicians and several things explode in extra cool ways. Plus, there’s a certain white-faced bad guy who makes several more appearances in this new trailer and we also get to hear him speak a lot more as well.

All in all, a very nice addition to the current lineup of trailers and other info for the movie.

As soon as we can give you more details about the film and the trailer itself — which is scheduled to be released in about two weeks — we’ll bring it to you.

Batman: The Dark Knight is set to hit theaters July 18.

‘Incredible Hulk’ to Speak – ‘Captain America’ Film Hinted?

‘Incredible Hulk’ to Speak – ‘Captain America’ Film Hinted?

The panel for The Incredible Hulk movie at New York Comic Con had a few big surprises for fans. If you don’t want any minor spoilers, get away from this post right now.

Still with us? Sweet.

A not-quite-finished version of the full length trailer was shown (the completed version will appear before Iron Man). The new trailer had some added scenes showing the Hulk and his enemy the Abomination (referred to only by his real name of "Emil Blonsky" in the film) fighting in New York City and smashing helicopters in the process. It also included a quick clip of a military official referring to Blonsky as a subject of a General Ross’s "bio-force project" who winds up going out of control.

During the panel, a couple of clips were shown with actor Tim Roth as Emil Blonksy. One clip showed him receiving an injection of a blue-colored serum which was supposed to prepare him to take on the Hulk in physical combat.

The second clip involved Edward Norton as Bruce Banner, being cornered by the military. Seeing his beloved Betty Ross (Liv Tyler) in danger, Banner transforms into the Hulk and begins fighting off the soldiers. On the order of General Ross (William Hurt), Blonksy then shows up and challenges the Hulk.

Apparently as a result of the serum he’s been injected with, he is now able to operate with enhanced agility and speed. While not exactly superhuman, his newfound physical prowess reminded me of Captain America in action as he dodged and weaved between the Hulk’s physical attacks while letting loose with guns and rockets. This was a phenomenal action scene and the direction made it feel very personal and in-your-face.

Dear Paramount,

Please stop teasing us with Iron Man movie stuff. It’s getting to the point where the anticipation is actually causing physical pain. You’ve sold us. We’re there on opening day.

Thanks.

Apple.com’s movie trailer section scored an exclusive clip of Robert Downey, Jr. as Tony Stark, taking flight for the first time in his Iron Man armor. Check out the site to see the clip in more formats than you ever knew were possible.

Marvel Zombies: The Movie?

Marvel Zombies: The Movie?

Audiences love superhero movies. They also love zombie movies. What if… What if Marvel Studios decided to greenlight Marvel Zombies: The Movie?

Sadly, this is not reality. But Ojala Productions created a fan made, not-for-profit trailer for the popular comic book that gives us a peak and what could be. Similar to Batman: Dead End, the famous internet short where the Dark Knight squared off against Joker, an Alien and a Predator, Marvel Zombies was filmed  as a calling card to show studios Ojala Productions’ capabilities.

New ‘Iron Man’ Game Trailer: Air Battle

Sick of all the Iron Man videogame news yet? If so, don’t bother reading this post… but we’re willing to bet that you’ll read it anyways. We’re diabolical like that.

For those of you who are interested in more news about the upcoming videogame adaptation of the film, or for anyone who’s simply impressed by the fact that Sega has defied expectations and made a movie-based game that actually looks good, we have you covered. (By the way, click here to see how movie-based games can go horribly wrong.)

Sega has released a new trailer for the upcoming game highlighting the golden Avenger’s aerial combat. And if that wasn’t enough to get you pumped, they scored it with Black Sabbath’s "Iron Man."

New ‘Hellboy 2’ Trailer Synopsis

New ‘Hellboy 2’ Trailer Synopsis

Universal Pictures debuted a new trailer for Hellboy II: The Golden Army at this week’s ShoWest convention in Las Vegas. According to reports, the trailer included many of the new, strange creatures we’ve been hearing so much about, including the bizarre "Cathedral Head" and the massive cave troll, "Mr. Wink."

ComingSoon.net has the following synopsis of the trailer, as well as more information about the new trailers that debuted at the event:

The new trailer opens at the Blackwoods auction house where they’re putting the Royal Crown of Bethmoora up for auction when Luke Goss’ Prince Nuada shows up to reclaim it, and his henchman Mr. Wink crashes through a door with what looks like his metal fist dangling from a chain. It then cuts to the BPRD headquarters to reintroduce the concept of the BPRD being called upon to deal with supernatural occurrences, and Hellboy, Liz and Abe Sapien show up at the location which is completely trashed and empty, and Hellboy says something to Liz, like "There’s no one here, babe" and she retorts "Don’t call me babe!" which he responds, "I didn’t call you babe, I said ‘Hey!’" Hellboy makes a comment about it not looking good when thousands of Thooth Fairies, tiny winged creatures with sharp teeth fly out from the shadows of the walls attacking them. The rest of the trailer is very quick and goes by very fast, but we finally see Princess Nuala and get glimpses of a lot of the creatures of the Troll Market including Cathedral Head, and after we see one of the more hideous creature, it cuts to Hellboy yelling "I see you" and we see that the creature is disguised as an old bag lady (presumably this is the creature referred to as "Bag Lady" in the production office). We see more of Hellboy fighting against the Golden Army, the giant mechanical beetles that Prince Nuada brings to life, and more of his fight with Mr. Wink with the two of them smashing their stone fists together and Wink’s fist crumbling as he looks at the results and whines. The final scene is the street scene with the giant Elemental but this time Hellboy yells at the creature, "Now you’ve done it. You woke the baby!" and pulls out his Big Baby gun.
