Exclusive ‘Lost Boys 2: The Tribe’ Trailer Released

Exclusive ‘Lost Boys 2: The Tribe’ Trailer Released

Previously, I brought you the first pic and an interview about the upcoming direct-to-DVD sequel to one of the cult-favorite films of the ’80s: The Lost Boys. And now over at MTV, they’ve released the exclusive new trailer for the sequel, known as Lost Boys 2: The Tribe, for your viewing pleasure.

And as if that wasn’t enough, along with the trailer they’ve also got an interview with Edgar Frog himself, Corey Feldman, where he discusses, among other things, the new film’s story, its characters and how the sequel fits in with the original timeline. He also talks about how his character has evolved since the first film and how important it was for the sequel to stay true to the original and not disappoint hardcore fans.

Finally, he reveals that Corey Haim is, in fact, in the new movie and talks a bit about their strained relationship. The trailer itself features what you would expect from a movie like this: action, motorcycles, attractive young people in danger, blood, gore and vampires, vampires, vampires. Surprisingly, after watching it a couple times, the movie doesn’t seem as cheesy as I thought it would. In fact, it looks pretty good.

Lost Boys 2: The Tribe hits DVD store shelves in July.

‘Hulk’ Teaser Trailer Released

‘Hulk’ Teaser Trailer Released

Even though tomorrow is technically the day when the first trailer for The Incredible Hulk will be released, it appears as if someone at Universal is getting a little antsy. Why? Well, a few bits and pieces of the trailer are already posted over at MTV’s website.

This sneak-peek doesn’t reveal too much and mostly shows Ed Norton’s Bruce Banner in therapy, discussing some of his anger issues. It also has a few shots of soldiers running, a humvee smashing through a barricade and Banner’s eyes turning green which, of course, signals an appearance by everyone’s favorite green goliath.

Josh Howard Previews ‘Dead@17 Compendium’

Josh Howard Previews ‘Dead@17 Compendium’

Josh Howard, the "comic book and pin-up artist" behind Viper Comics’ Dead@17, The Lost Books of Eve and Clubbing (from DC’s MINX imprint) has posted a preview of the upcoming Dead@17 Compendium on his website.

While his work has trended more towards the T&A over time, I’ve always been a fan of his storytelling ability as much as his art. In fact, during my time with the-company-that-shall-remain-nameless, I even convinced him to write a great little column about life in the independent comics scene. Howard showed a real knack for the written word that, to be quite honest, impressed the heck out of me. While his old column seems to have been "disappeared" due to a recent redesign, it’s good to see that he’s been keeping busy.

There doesn’t seem to be any release date set for the Dead@17 Compendium, but Howard has indicated the collection will feature a mixture of touched-up and brand-new art — as well as an abundance of near-naked girls beating the snot out of zombies, demons and each other.

First ‘Hulk’ Trailer to Premiere Next Week

First ‘Hulk’ Trailer to Premiere Next Week

This news is not quite as good as actually getting to see the new The Incredible Hulk trailer today. However, at least there’s now an actual date you will see the trailer. According to an official release from Universal, that date is March 12th.

Here’s the pertinant details from that very press release:

The first teaser trailer for hotly anticipated summer superhero epic "The Incredible Hulk" will have its exclusive broadcast debut in a simultaneous "roadblock" on seven networks on Wednesday, March 12. This first opportunity to see material from the motion picture will be aired at approximately 9:56 p.m. EDT/6:56 p.m. PDT on MTV, MTVU, MTV2, VH1, Spike TV, Nick at Nite and CMT.

Not only will you get to see the trailer on all those TV stations, it will be posted on MTV.com afterward. It will also begin showing on March 14th in front of Neil Marshall’s Doomsday — which, in spite of its "borrowing" liberally from Escape from New York and Road Warrior, actually looks kinda cool.

For those of you not familiar with the story of this latest theatrical incarnation of the Hulk, it concerns scientist Bruce Banner (Ed Norton) who desperately searches for a cure to the Gamma radiation that’s poisoned him. On the run and in hiding, he’s pursued by the sinister General Ross (William Hurt) who wants to capture him and exploit the power of the Hulk for his own purposes.

But all bets are off when an even bigger threat appears: the evil and destructive Abomination (Tim Roth). Now, Banner must decide if his own life is worth saving or if he should unleash the Hulk, fight the Abomination, and save the world.

The Incredible Hulk hits theaters on June 13th.

New ‘Wanted’ Trailer and Pics Hit the Web

New ‘Wanted’ Trailer and Pics Hit the Web

When I first heard about the upcoming big-screen adaptation of Mark Miller’s Wanted, I was, as I usually am in these situations, skeptical. Hollywood’s treatment of comic books has ranged greatly over the years and produced some seriously bad movies such as Daredevil, Ghost Rider and The League of Extrordinary Gentlemen.

However, to be fair, Hollywood also gets it right sometimes, like they did with Sin City, Batman Begins and X-Men. So, when I heard about the Wanted movie I was hopeful that this one could potentially join the ranks of "good" films  — that is, until I saw the first trailer. And now, there’s another one — which doesn’t really make things any better.

I’m not sure what movie they think they’re making, but it isn’t Wanted — at least not the one that I read. Instead, we’re treated to what appears to be your standard action fare including guns, babes, car chases and explosions galore. Don’t get me wrong, I like all those things — especially babes that take on the form of Angelina Jolie.

What I don’t like is Hollywood buying the rights to a comic book just to use the title and not making a movie actually based, in some part, on that comic book. Sure, Wanted might have things about it that may be difficult to adapt for the movies — like an interesting bad guy made out of a certain waste material — but still, those are the things that made Wanted interesting, unique and fun in the first place.

In the alternate reality where I run everything, this kind of thing wouldn’t happen. Sadly, we don’t live in that world and instead have to deal with things like this. Well, enough of my ranting, head on over to MySpace if you want to see the new trailer and stills from the movie supposedly based on the Wanted comic book. Enjoy.

Random Video: Evolution of Optimus Prime Dance

Random Video: Evolution of Optimus Prime Dance

If you spend any significant time on the InterWebs, you’ve already seen the ridiculously viral "Evolution of Dance" video featuring comedian Judson Laipply twisting, shaking and jumping his way through several generations of dance trends. (If you haven’t, it’s available here on YouTube.)

Sure, Laipply can do a mean Twist, and he even pulls off a decent Robot — but can he transform into a tractor trailer rig and fight Decepticons? I’m guessing that’s a big ol’ negatory, good buddy.

New ‘Iron Man’ Trailer Premieres

New ‘Iron Man’ Trailer Premieres

Earlier in the week I told you that a brand new trailer for Iron Man would premiere during ABC’s Lost this week. In case you missed it or, for some reason don’t happen to watch Lost, here you go:

This latest trailer provided a first look at many elements of Iron Man, including Gwyneth Paltrow as Pepper Potts, much more of Robert Downey, Jr. as Tony Stark and some new armor test sequences as Stark is trying out his jet boots and learning to fly.

Since seeing the first footage of Iron Man at Comic-Con last July, I’ve always been pretty sure Robert Downey, Jr. was going to be a great Tony Stark. Now, after watching this new trailer where we get to see a lot more of him in action, I’m convinced. Robert Downey, Jr. is Tony Stark.

New ‘Indiana Jones’ Poster Hits the Net

New ‘Indiana Jones’ Poster Hits the Net

Previously on ComicMix, there’s been some cool new Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull news including the exciting first trailer for your viewing pleasure. Now, thanks to the Unofficial Movie Blog, there’s a picture of the new poster for the upcoming film as well.

The poster, snapped by Dan perhaps somewhere in the bowels of Lucasfilm, features not one but two intrepid adventureres in the form of Indy, of course, and his younger sidekick Mutt Williams. Mutt, as we’ve seen previsouly in the trailer, seems somewhat reluctant to be tagging along with Indy as he struggles to find and/or protect whatever the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull happens to be.

That’s probably why he’s making that face in the poster.

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull hits theaters on May 22nd.

First ‘X-Files 2’ Trailer Hits the Net

First ‘X-Files 2’ Trailer Hits the Net

If you’re like me, you’re pretty psyched to see the new X-Files movie. I was a big fan of the original TV series and enjoyed the first feature film very much. So, its been with great anticipation that I’ve waited for the new movie, still "officially" known as The Untitled X-Files Sequel (they really need to pick an actual name soon).

There’s been a few bits and pieces surfacing about the film so far. But now, thanks to the folks over at IESB, there’s video of the brand-new trailer shown at this weekends WonderCon. The snow-covered trailer features many of the original X-Files cast including, of course, Mulder and Scully as played by David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson.

It also reveals a couple of new additions to the X-Files world, including a long-haired Billy Connolly, who screams "It’s here!" several times during the trailer, and new FBI agent Amanda Peet who tells people to "give him room." Looks cool to me.

One bit of advice about videos like this: if you want to see it, you better hurry. Things of this nature tend to disappear from the Internets as quickly as they appear. Although, this trailer will most-likely pop up on TV soon anyway, so if you miss it now, don’t worry too much. Enjoy.

X-Files 2 hits theaters July 25th.

New ‘Iron Man’ Trailer to Surface During This Week’s ‘Lost’

New ‘Iron Man’ Trailer to Surface During This Week’s ‘Lost’

If you’re a fan of Iron Man and excited for the upcoming film — and let’s face it, you probably are if you’re reading ComicMix — then here’s some more good news for you besides the other stuff we’ve already mentioned previously.

According to Marvel, during ABC’s episode of Lost this week, they’re going to debut a brand-new, 90-second trailer for Iron Man.

This new trailer is the one director Jon Favreau couldn’t show at WonderCon this past weekend so you have to know it contains some pretty cool stuff. So, fire up your Tivos and get ready for some pulse-pounding, armor-clad action. Mine’s already set.

Lost airs Thursdays at 9 PM Eastern/Pacific and 8 PM Central. Iron Man opens May 2nd.
