I take offence. I love the new BSG, and STILL love the original as well. There's lots to criticize in the original, but the concepts, characters and overall themes stand the test of time. And if you take out the hasty filler episodes that were written to make it a series (rather than series of tele-films as it was to have been) this show is still great today. WHy can't we love both? I hate that there is little media tolerance for those of us who refuse to chose between them. They are not the same. Apples and oranges. And apart from a few names and lingo, they should be judged more apart than side by side.

Hey, it could be worse. I just received Battlestar 1980 on DVD! Can't wait to tear in to that!

There are a couple decnet BSG 1980 episodes – "The Night the Cylons Landed" (featuring WOlfman Jack as Henry VIII) is fun.

There's still supposed to be that "Caprica" prequel series in development.
