Torchwood Two Sports James Marsters, Freema Agyeman
Torchwood, the more adult brother to Doctor Who, will be returning to the airwaves on Wednesday, January 16th for another 13 episode run.
To the BBC in the United Kingdom, of course. Its North American debuts will happen… later.
Buffy’s James Marsters (well, also Smallville’s James Marsters and Without A Trace’s James Marsters) is set to become the series’ main villain, a rogue Time Agent named Captain (!) John Hart. As promised, Freema Agyeman will drop by for several episodes mid-season in her role as The Doctor’s companion Martha Jones. After her Torchwood stint, Martha will be returning to Doctor Who to team up with several other companions, present and past. And Torchwood star John Barrowman is expected to be around for the finale to next season’s Doctor Who as well.
But first, Captain Jack must survive Captain John, as well as a slew of other menaces as they "visit" such times as World War I and the 51th Century.
Its North American debuts …. January 26th! on BBC America. Just 10 days later – amazingly quick in comparison to other shows.Neil
Um, James Marsters is only currently confirmed as being in the first episode of the season. I'm not sure where you're getting the "series' main villain" thing. Freema will be in episodes 6-8, the first airing on Feb. 20th in the UK. John Barrowman has said he'll be returning to Doctor Who for the series four finale, but that's yet to be confirmed officially.
What I'm told is his contractual commitment for reappearances. Of course, I don't believe the Beeb has confirmed a third season ("series") so the point could wind up being moot if the show gets axed.
No reason it shouldn't get renewed. The show is doing amazing, even here in the states. And I hope that you are correct, in that he will be making more apperances than just the first episode. I couldn't wait, and so watched it on YouTube, and I for one want to see much more of John/Jack together.
I hope the new season is better that the first. I'm very surprised it got renewed.
Spike was on Without a Trace? When did that happen? I stopped watching long ago, after one too many "FBI investigates disapperance of crack addict hooker reported missing 5 minutes ago" stories.
He is to return on the last episode of this season. This was stated in an interview. I am glad this show was renewed, it is action packed and the people on the show seem to work well together. I hope to see it for a third season and beyond.
Mr. Marsters indeed will return to Torchwood for the season finale, to be broadcast on April 4th. He was prominently featured in the trailer after last Friday night's episode, as broadcast on BBC-3.A great show. Next to Boston Legal and Frisky Dingo, my current favorite.
