Marvel’s Top 10 Hulk Villains, More ‘Incredible Hulk’ Video

Marvel’s Top 10 Hulk Villains, More ‘Incredible Hulk’ Video

As part of "Hulk Month" on Marvel.com, the publisher’s online crew recently put together a list of the Top 10 villains to test the Green Goliath’s mettle throughout the character’s long history.

While I disagree with the assertion by Marvel.com’s "spy on the wall" blogger Agent M that the publisher does Top 10 lists "better than other feeble comic sites," I did enjoy this list of Hulk villains. If nothing else, it reaffirmed my belief that the Jade Giant (yes, I’m trying to use every possible nickname for Hulk in this article) has one of the most bizarre rogue’s galleries  in comics.

Case in point: Bi-Beast

"You know the old saying, ‘two heads are better than one’? Nowhere is that more true than in the case of Bi-Beast. With one head containing knowledge of warfare and combat, and another head containing knowledge of history and culture—stacked on top of a body containing immense power—this android packs a formidable one-two punch. Though defeated by Hulk time and again, he remains one of the Hulk’s toughest sparring partners to date."

‘The Incredible Hulk’ Xbox 360 Game Achievements Detailed

‘The Incredible Hulk’ Xbox 360 Game Achievements Detailed

While I try to stay videogame platform neutral here at ComicMix, I’ll admit that I’m very, very excited to see the Xbox 360 achievement list for the upcoming videogame based on Incredible Hulk film.

If you’re not familiar with the Xbox 360 "achievements" system, it’s a method for giving gamers recognition for completing certain tasks in games. The accomplishment is recorded by the Xbox LIVE online service for fellow gamers to see. Basically, it’s Facebook for videogames. Hardcore gamers furiously try to get them all.

The digital bragging rights have proven very popular and similar schemes have been launched for PCs via the Steam network, while Sony announced a "Trophy" system coming soon for the PlayStation 3.

Behind the Scenes With ‘The Incredible Hulk’ Game

Behind the Scenes With ‘The Incredible Hulk’ Game

Sega released a video yesterday with the unwieldy title The Beast Within: The Making of The Incredible Hulk The Official Videogame. In it, staff members from publisher Sega and developer Edge of Reality declare their undying love for the Incredible Hulk. Then Justin Lambros, Vice President of Interactive at Marvel Studios, said he thought they were cute, too.

Sheesh! What’s with the love fest? This is the Incredible Hulk. It’s all about rage and anger. But the video did show some neat renders and development footage if you’re into that kind of thing. See it for yourself after the jump.

Marvel Interactive on Iron Man and Hulk: New Deal For Comic Book Videogames?

Marvel Interactive on Iron Man and Hulk: New Deal For Comic Book Videogames?

Comic book and videogame fanboys freaked out a little recently when the news broke that Sega would be handling Marvel’s movie-based games. After years of bad Marvel Comics videogames, Activision turned out solid hits that satisfied the mainstream and comic fans alike, such as Spider-Man and Marvel: Ultimate Alliance. While the Activision partnership continues, the New York Comic Con panel Marvel – Iron Man and The Incredible Hulk: Making the Video Games emphasized that Marvel themselves were taking a greater hand in game creation.

Justin Lambros, VP of Marvel Interactive, operates out of the same West Coast office as Marvel Studios. The philosophy is that his division can oversee the partners, and with their studio ties they can improve the process by increasing development times, granting access to movie assets earlier, speeding approvals and allow for movie talent participation. They can also relate to the studios what the limitations are of the current systems.

It’s an interesting idea that brings to mind the ’90s buzzword "synergy," but in this case it seems to be making good on its promises. As mentioned in earlier articles, the Iron Man movie-based game producers were granted access to the CGI models for the armor much earlier then usual. Iron Man game director Jeffrey Tseng said that meeting the cast while doing the voices made a difference.

"Robert Downey gave us insights into the character," said Tseng — something they wouldn’t have received with sound-alike voice actors. Also, the action figures for the Iron Man and Incredible Hulk movies will feature characters only seen in the videogame adaptation.

‘Incredible Hulk’ Promotional Art Revealed

‘Incredible Hulk’ Promotional Art Revealed

We’ve gotten glimpses of what the Hulk and the Abomination may look like in the forthcoming Incredible Hulk movie thanks to the toys produced for the film, but now we can get a closer look.

Bad Taste has posted some new promotional artwork for the film that depicts the Hulk in various states of rage. This is the artwork given to licensers to demonstrate what the green goliath will look like in the movie. If you squint hard enough, you can kind of see the resemblance to Edward Norton.

The website is in Italian, but the brute force of the Hulk’s smashing translates any cultural and linguistic barriers. If you’re desperate to read the site, be smart like the Leader and use Babelfish to translate it!

New ‘Incredible Hulk’ Images Hit the Web

New ‘Incredible Hulk’ Images Hit the Web

Empire Magazine has posted two new, exclusive images from the forthcoming Incredible Hulk film.

The images show an angry Bruce Banner (Edward Norton) strapped down with electrodes all over him. Like most things in this world, including puppy dogs, ice cream and the New York Mets, being strapped down makes Banner angry and causes him to Hulk out.

The second image gives us a nice profile shot of General Thunderbolt Ross (William Hurt), wearing a cast on his left arm. Tussling with the Hulk tends to leave people with injuries. It looks like Ross got off lucky.

Fans will get to see the green goliath in action once The Incredible Hulk hits theaters on June 13, 2008.

ComicMix TV: Toy Fair ’08 Preview

ComicMix TV: Toy Fair ’08 Preview

ComicMix comes to you from Toy Fair this week, in the heart of New York City… and we have video!

Okay, so it’s not exactly the "heart" of the city. It’s more like the "elbow-region," way over on the Western side of the island where the subways don’t dare to travel. But the point here is that there are toys — lots of them.

We’ve already shown you the comics-inspired dolls of Tonner, a heap of Incredible Hulk and Iron Man branded toys, and Dark Horse Comics’ Will Eisner-designed Spirit statues. Now we have a short video preview of what’s to come from our Toy Fair coverage, hosted by our intrepid ComicMix host, Matt Raub.

Be sure to check back throughout the week for a look at highlights from our tours of the DC Direct and Mattel showrooms!
