Single best issue of Assistant Editors’ Month.
Five and a half pages of Snowbird fighting an ancient snow monster in the middle of a blizzard.
In other words, Five and a half pages of nothing by word balloons, captions and sound effects.
A joke originally done in ONE PANEL in What If? 34, dragged out to five and a half pages.
Brilliant.
I always thought it would be interesting to get a bunch of artists to fill in those panels, and see how closely the interpretations matched up. It would be an excellent example of how balloon placements and sound effects suggest action.
Did John get full cover rate for that one? If so, then DC owes me for Wasteland #6.
