I’ve had a horrible week-and frankly did not think anything could get me to give a f**K but this image is just so right on, I had to.
THIS is the single best image I’ve seen to represent this disaster.
I may be naive here… but why don’t they have other boats with hoses and empty hulls start taking away the oil?!?
This is exactly what I was thinking!
Because there was no way to collect it.
This is amusing. My friend said last week that what BP really needed to do was hire Aquaman to find a solution, and I countered that he’d probably end up covered in oil and dead.

It’d been nice if you or your “source” had actually credited where the image originated: http://www.aquamanshrine.com/2010/06/aquaman-shrine-goes-…
Christopher, give Glenn a few hours. The Aquaman Shrine gave credit to Nick Cardy for creating the original art in this image. And it only took them 11 days to do that. ;) My guess is it will take less time for Glenn to give http://www.aquamanshrine.com credit for their contribution to this collage. Thanks for pointing out where this meme originated.

Russ-
The reason it took me (aka The Aquaman Shrine) 11 days to give Nick Cardy credit is because when I originally posted the doctored cover, I had no idea it would go viral–it was just a thing for the Shrine’s readers, most if not all of whom already knew who drew the cover.
It wasn’t until I saw that it was bouncing all over the internet–sometimes unknowingly crediting me for the artwork–that I felt the need to do that follow-up post to clue in anyone who was visiting the Shrine for the first time, which was a lot of people in the wake of it going viral.
