that's not fair… why doesn't rachel just get freelancers health insurance like the rest of us? and if she's a student, she can get a discount on insurance through her school. i think it kind of sucks that she's asking this. i'm also a freelance cartoonist with high medical bills… anyone want to give ME money?

Thanks so much for posting this, Elayne! We at Lulu are really pulling for Rachel! But just to prevent anybody accidently donating money for Rachel through Friends of Lulu, I wanted to make clear that this is not an official Friends of Lulu-sponsored medical fund (though we certainly hope everyone will donate, and we will be spreading the word!). We at Lulu are not collecting any money for Rachel — but rather, Leigh is working with Rachel and has helped her set up a donation system. All funds go directly to Rachel.Which reminds me, I have to go donate… :-)

Thanks for clarifying this, Val. My original headline said nothing about FoL, sorry if the revise may have sent the wrong message.

      • Rick Marshall says:

Sorry about that, Val. I made the change in headline, as the original deck was a bit confusing. Apparently, this didn't help matters.

        • Elayne Riggs says:

Me being a bit confusing NEVER helps matters, but I feel after 50 years it's probably something with which I'll have to live. :)

Not a problem — I'm just glad the word is getting out on Rachel's situation!
