Happy 72nd birthday, Elvis!
Today in 1935, a king was born. In East Tupelo.
Apparently, so great was/is his majesty that Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Kansas, North and South Carolina, Pennsylvania and Virginia have made today, "Elvis Presley Day." The king had a twin, Jesse, who was stillborn– no room in this world for two kings of music.
Incidentally, he also sued for divorce from Priscilla on his birthday, too. That’s one big birthday.
So everybody– sing! Because Elvis is everywhere!
Actually, I’m a little miffed that more places haven’t declared it "Graham Chapman Day" in observance of his birthday as well…
Oh yeah? Ever see the two of them together?
This is America. Gays make us uncomfortable, so we'd prefer to believe that Graham Chapman never existed.
I had to look him up. I know a lot of Python bits because people use them so often, but I've never been able to get into their movies.
Howard Johnson is right! (Gosh, I've always wanted to say that in real life.)
