Happy birthday, Monty Python!
On this day in 1969, Graham Chapman, John Cleese, Terry Gillaim, Eric Idle, Terry Jones, and Michael Palin gathered to start filming the first episode of Monty Python’s Flying Circus. If it weren’t for them, we’d have to call massive piles of junk email something completely different.
And now for something completely different…
I haven't watched a lot of Python, so maybe the bite bit is from a show. But python bites are harmless. They squeeze people to death.
Actually, it's a riff from Monty Python and the Holy Grail. Not watched much Python? I envy the enjoyment you're going to have.
I've seen bits and thought it was silly. I think I just have the wrong kind of brain. I recognize a lot of bits from it, though, because they've entereed fannish culture, not to mention general culture.
After four years, they'll give him a brush.
they squeeze people to death? am I missing the reference? Its okay if I am…
The sub-head says "Mînd yoü, pÿthøn bites can be prettÿ nastÿ…" and I was guessing it was from the show/movies rather than just a sub-head. But real pythons squeeze people to death. They do bite and it hurts, but it doesn't kill you. Of the deadly snakes, some have venom, others just wind around you and squeeze you.
I think Field Marshall Montgomery did much the same thing… professionally speaking, of course.
