Elayne Riggs is the creator of the popular blog Pen-Elayne on the Web. She was a founding member of Friends of Lulu, an organization dedicated to increasing the involvement of girls and women in comics, as readers and creators. She is married to inker Robin Riggs, with whom she shares two cats, and has odd love/hate relationship with Hillary Clinton.

I used to know a gal who would walk around her apartment in her Spidey pajamas, talking to her Wolverine action figure, but I don't think that's her in the picture. Then again….
If Power Girl CHOOSES to dress like that, how is that her male artist's fault?!?
I think part of the point that the writers were trying to make was that Power Girl had male creators who designed and put her in that costume.

I give Geoff John credit for ATTEMPTING to provide reasoning behind her costume (well the HOLE in it atleast…). Without a home, or direction, she chooses NO symbol to put on her chest like so many other have. Of course this leads her cleavage to be her symbol, which giving what a boring character she is most of the time… is probably why it stays that way. I for one have more problem with her swashbuckler boots and dishwashing gloves.
It's nice to see Martha Thomases back at ComicMix. This issue isn't as funny as Munden's Bar #5. But it's been a long drought since there's been any Munden's, it's a fresh breeze seeing it back! Thank you. I've always been a fan of Breyfogle's drawing. I think the last page is a "thank you" to the writers and artists that have brought more balanced, well rounded female action characters to comics and other media. But it's hard for me to say what characters are being referenced. Is that a "Ripley"-esque character is fatigues with a flamethrower? Or is this panel just there to show that you can portray exciting, female action heroes without resorting to outlandish costumes or exaggerated anatomy?Speaking of female action heroes … Steven Grant tried to relaunch "Whisper" a few years ago … any chance of seeing "Whisper" on ComicMix?And would "Women's History Month" be a good time to bring Ms. Tree to ComicMix?
[SPOILERS…kinda] When I got to the last panel of this fun little comic, I wasn't able to identify all of the female characters represented. Erm…I hate to be the bearer of bad news here, but the current artist for Peej's series is Amanda Conner–A woman. Also, Peej's series is hilarious sometimes, and just plain madcap at others. I honestly don't see any sexist or mysogenistic agenda behind it.
