Harry Potter Does Chemistry: Daniel Radcliffe Sings ‘The Elements’
Proving that even boy wizards know science. From The Graham Norton Show:
I’m impressed that he can do it, even more impressed that he did it on national television, and very impressed that he thinks Tom Lehrer is the cleverest and funniest man of the twentieth century. And depressed that most of the audience has never heard of Tom Lehrer… although now, thanks to all those Harry Potter pans, I expect a renaissance.
I sang along with him. He dropped one or two at the end, but the audience was making noise, so it’s understandable.

“These are the only ones of which the news has come to Harvard….and there may be many others, but they haven’t been discovered!”
Very impressed, both with Radcliffe’s recitation and his taste in classic humor. It’s sad that the novelty or humor song genre has all but dried up as far as “popular” music and radio airplay is concerned (Weird Al notwithstanding, although I’d challenge the average person on the street to identify an Al song that isn’t a direct parody).
Has Weird Al done any new material the last few years? I know he still tours, but I can’t think of an album since “Poodle Hat” which came out in 02 or 03. And, regarding non-parody originals, that album also has one called “Hardware Store.”
Weird Al did “Straight Outta Lynwood” in 2006. He also has a new album in the works which should be out within a year. He has already released several of the songs under the mini-album title “Internet Leaks”.
