The actor (Capaldi) can only put into the role (The Doctor) what the writer (Moffat) allows them to! That said, Capaldi is a great actor; Moffat’s writing sucks as he’s more interested in his own celebrity than writing a good story!

Your words from my mouth. The stories are predictable, formulaic and leading to a big probably complicated season finale…again. Capaldi deserves better stories.

Don’t much like this version of the Doctor – of all the various Doctors, Three was the only one who really annoyed me before.

Have to admit i never saw much of Seven, so perhaps he would have grated, too.
