Except the founding fathers were aware of automatic weapons that existed at the time, and were actually fans of them. I would believe that they were smart enough to account for technological advancement, otherwise they would have made it the right to bear “muskets” and not arms.

Justin Wawrzonek The founding fathers were not prophets. Also the founding fathers wrote the 2nd Amendment for militas and not for private citizen gun ownership.

The 2nd amendment was written for the average citizen so they could form a militia. At the time it extended to all forms of armorment including war boats and cannons. The intent was to not have a government more heavily armed than those it governs.
      We need education not legislation.

Brian Grant you need to educate yourself on the definition of militia as defined by the Founders.

By that logic, the first amendment didn’t account for the internet, cellphones, and many forms of communication and expressions of speech.

Do you how many people die from communication? We should outlaw the 1st Amendment too.
