I miss her, too, John. I have vivid memories of walking around SoHo with her (when there were still art galleries), and being completely mortified by how loudly exuberant she was. That taught me a lot.

  2. Thank you for sharing her story. It’s as if I met her and knew her for a moment.

I would have loved to have met Kim not just because of being a fellow Chicagoan and to give her countless praise for all the joy she brought to my life through Suicide Squad but Moreso would have loved to have met her because she truly sounded like an amazing person.

I don’t want to adorn this space with my personal loss but I will say we truly miss our lost loved ones especially those that brightened our lives above all else. While the industry terribly misses one of their brightest stars in Kim, she left her mark on ALL of our lives she touched through her amazing talents and work. Most importantly she lives on in the hearts of you John and all of you lucky enough to have known and loved her. Thank you John for sharing this article. It is a beautiful trubute for a beautiful woman.

That was a powerfully moving piece, Mr Ostrander.

Back in the day, I remember thinking, if I see the name “Kim Yale” in the credits of a comic book it’ll be great – and I was right. And if I saw her name with yours, again, wonderful stuff.

She was a fantastic storyteller, and her work with you was, is, always will be worth anyone’s time.

    Here’s to her.
