Very glad to see you liked it, Mr O.

The “pile on” nature of some of the reviews the film has so far gotten makes me wonder if some critics are actually watching the film or too busy scribbling down snarky zingers and trying one up each other in the nasty remarks arena.

The film is not perfect, but no way does it deserve the harsh treatment it’s received in some quarters.

I dream about a Grimm Jack TV series. One of my all time favorite comics. Just wanted to say that.

No dude, just no. They did not make a good film, and believe me, I really wanted to like it. The previews looked amazing. But in the end, Ayer was just trying to do too much. Deadshot and Harley were a great base, and you could see the rapport between Smith and Robbie. Everyone else seemed like an afterthought, although I thought Enchantress was interesting. The Joker’s attempt at menace seemed empty, looking more like a Joker goon than the actual force of nature that is the Joker. Leto is too talented and his mush-mouth delivery (badly fitting prosthetics maybe) was an unfortunate choice. The third act was hopelessly muddled, the character interactions were awkward, and the writing just degenerated to pap. Also, why was this PG-13? An R rating, less kumbaya in the squad, and more double-dealing would have served it well.

You can try to blame it on preconceived notions, and you’ll have your supporters, but all the crying in the fanboy universe can’t change this movie from being what it is: a confused attempt at what could have been something great. $135 million box office though, maybe they’ll be able to redeem via sequel.
