Like Jack Parr, like Johnny Carson, Jon Stewart cannot be replaced. Like the two aforementioned gentlemen, he is an original. Yes, of course, all three built upon what had come before–before Jack Parr there was Steve Allen and Ernie Kovacs–but each in term transformed their shows into “something else” entirely.

I will miss him, too, John.

The key phrase in this article is “yes, his opinions mostly coincide with mine.” That’s the only possible way you can see Jon Stewart as any kind of talent. His opinions don’t coincide at all with mine, so to me, he’s a jackass, and I generally find people who bow at his feet with such unquestioning adoration are jackasses, as well.

An entertainer should be entertaining in all contexts. Yes, there will be people who like a performer and people who don’t, but it should not be entirely predicated on what their political views are, ever.

If Jon Stewart were truly worth his salt, as only leftists claim him to be, he’d be able to see the good and bad in both Democrats and Republicans, and use it as the basis for his humor. But to take a side and then only criticize the other is unprofessional at best, and the work of an unworthy hack who should be folding sweaters at Nordstrom at worst. The saddest part is, Jon Stewart doesn’t even get the jokes his writers give him to tell.

Good riddance Jon Stewart, mindless court jester to liberals.

‘Twould appear, milady, that you never actually watched Stewart – just took the word of the FOX Izvestia crowd about him.

One more thought: “The truth has a liberal bias.”

Jen, just so you know, Stewart “snarked” anyone he thought was deserving of snarking. Even President Obama at times.
