    Danny’s final “I love you” is like the Doctor’s final “No” in the volcano scene – intended to drive Clara to an action.

    As to the white noise thing – James Blish’s story “BEEP!” (expanded as The Quincunx of Time) postulated a secret faster-than-light communication technology used by the military and intelligence agencies, which turns out to have every message ever sent or to be sent by it contained in a “Beep!” that appears to be a system artifact that appears at the beginning of every message, for which no-one has an explanation … except that someone figures it out.

    Hmmm. Just thought – they actually name the iPad, don’t they?

    Quite a change from the Sixties, when Ray Davies had to re-record a line in “Lola” to remove the reference to Coca-Cola by name before the BBC would play it.

    Also, i like the thought of Steve Jobs as a Cyberman.

    (Actually, i like the thought of Bad Things happening to that jerk in general.)
