John Ostrander

John Ostrander started his career as a professional writer as a playwright. His best known effort, Bloody Bess, was directed by Stuart Gordon, and starred Dennis Franz, Joe Mantegna, William J. Norris, Meshach Taylor and Joe Mantegna. He has written some of the most important influential comic books of the past 25 years, including Batman, The Spectre, Manhunter, Firestorm, Hawkman, Suicide Squad, Wasteland, X-Men, and The Punisher, as well as Star Wars comics for Dark Horse. New episodes of his creator-owned series, GrimJack, which was first published by First Comics in the 1980s, appear every week on ComicMix.

    I have to agree with you that amanda on arrow wanting to use a nuke to stop death stroke was wrong and out of character for her. for if the creators had kept true to the core of amanda in that episode she would proably have sent in the suicide squad and told them take no prisoners and kill if they have too. plus also always wondered if Amanda was based on any one real when you created her Mr Ostrander, not to mention Amdanda is also one of the few dc characters who can make batman blink and back off of something.

    I think that if you’re using a character you should stay true to who that character is – what they are, who they are, what values they have.

    Which is why Miyazaki’s version of Howl’s Moving Castle is an abomination.

    Well keep in mind Arrow is an origin story, so this is young Amanda Waller.
