    I’ll add Clay Bennett, Ben Sargent (who has made a secondary career of roasting Rick “Governor Goodhair” Perry), Jeff Danziger and Kevin Kallaugher (who works for both his home-town Baltimore Sun and The Economist to your list.

    Probably my favourite Mauldin cartoon ever was the Civil Rights-era one showing a couple of axe-handle-wielding rednecks during a riot: “Let that one go. He says he don’t wanna be my equal!”
