Martha Thomases Boldly Goes…

Martha Thomases

Martha Thomases brought more comics to the attention of more people than anyone else in the industry. Her work promoting The Death of Superman made an entire nation share in the tragedy of one of our most iconic American heroes. As a freelance journalist, she has been published in the Village Voice, High Times, Spy, the National Lampoon, Metropolitan Home, and more. For Marvel comics she created the series Dakota North. Martha worked as a researcher and assistant for the author Norman Mailer on several of his books, including the Pulitzer-Prize-winning Executioner's Song, On Women and Their Elegance, Ancient Evenings, and Harlot's Ghost.

Check out my column on Monday for my thoughts on ST: ID, Martha. I went to see it Sunday, I was going to write about it, but I wanted to give it a week to give others a chance to see it.

Like you I was/am a fan of the original series. That interest waned a bit with each succeeding show. Next Gen was fine but the best thing about Voyager was the theme music.

I liked Into Darkness a whole lot. Zachary Quinto is as good, maybe better, than Nimoy. The movie hits all the right beats but I can’t say more without spoiling it.

Peter Dinklage and Emelia Clarke are the best things about Game of Thrones. Daenerys is consistantly surprising her advisors, so much so that they hardly seem to be earning their keep. I saw Emelia Clarke on Broadway in Breakfast at Tiffany’s and she was marvelous.
