Why would Vince ever consider putting Punk over Taker?
    Where is the pay day?
Punk doesn’t need the push. He’s the hottest thing going right now.
Breaking the streak means Vince doesn’t get another DVD set of “THE STREAK CONTINUES”.

    It doesn’t serve anyone.
It might help cement Punk’s status, but bigger, better, and brighter than Punk have failed to end the streak.

As for it giving more heat for a match in a month. It’s been nearly three years since Taker has come back from Mania and actually wrestled a full schedule. The last two years have seen Taker mothballed after Mania, and only brought out weeks prior to Mania to attempt to build up a match.

Punk did have a breakout moment, but what made it so interesting is that the WWE actually let them do it on their dime and time. The other thing that made this so interesting was that it wasn’t buried on a recap show or some spin off fluff piece. It was on what I believe numbers wise is their biggest product. While the DC talent has outlets through social media to get their story out can you imagine DC letting a disgruntled employee rant on their last page of every book?

However, all of that aside. I agree. It’s a really good time to be a comic or wrestling fan. BIG BANG THEORY, THE WALKING DEAD, COMIC BOOK MEN, numerous movies are all letting media know that not only is it hip to be geek it’s PROFITABLE!

As for Otto under the mask. Give me a full two year commitment! As a retailer I am now selling DOUBLE of superior to that of AMAZING, and this is after 9 issues and multiple printings. Plus, it’s really good. There’s no story with Peter Parker that can’t wait till at least the next movie comes out, and honestly why would Marvel give a damn about supporting that next film? It’s not in their “house”.

I really enjoyed this article quite a bit.
