Martha Thomases: Udder Catastrophe

Martha Thomases

Martha Thomases brought more comics to the attention of more people than anyone else in the industry. Her work promoting The Death of Superman made an entire nation share in the tragedy of one of our most iconic American heroes. As a freelance journalist, she has been published in the Village Voice, High Times, Spy, the National Lampoon, Metropolitan Home, and more. For Marvel comics she created the series Dakota North. Martha worked as a researcher and assistant for the author Norman Mailer on several of his books, including the Pulitzer-Prize-winning Executioner's Song, On Women and Their Elegance, Ancient Evenings, and Harlot's Ghost.

  1. Great thoughts Martha. To your points:

    1. Apple kinda sorta already “made” their wrist watch. A few companies make watch bands that allow you to slip in an iPod nano (or shuffle?), and the iPod itself has a ‘watch mode’. Now I have decent eyesight and am very tech forward. Had I the $275 it would cost to buy both the band and iPod, I probably would have done it. But then I realized my iPhone is an iPod, and I don’t love apple that much anymore.

    2. You read my reviews on MichaelDavisWorld (lie if you don’t)… so you know I too had much seething rage over the end of Rotworld. But the artistic depiction of Superman and WonderBoobs was not nearly as disconcerting as the straight lack of plot development and characterization. That being said? Even when horribly disfigured by the avatar of death incarnate…. Boys love bewbs.

  2. Mindy Newell says:

Reptiles are not mammals. Reptiles do not have breasts or udders. Reptiles lay eggs.

    With you on this, Martha!!!

    Mindy

P.S.: Also with you on the Apple thing.
