And a later “Doctor Lite” episode set the new record for “Behind the Couch Factor” and is still my favourite “Doctor Who” episode ever – “Blink”.

And don’t forget the Donna Noble story “Turn Left.” That one was filmed at the same time as the Doctor story “Midnight” to help cut costs. (“Turn Left” was incredible as alternative history where, having never met Donna, the Doctor dies during the events of “The Runaway Bride” while “Midnight” has one of the all-time best performances by David Tennant in tandem with the episode’s standout guest, Lesley Sharp.)

But Mike’s right–“Blink” is incredible and is *REALLY* scary the first time you watch it. I’m not sure what made it so scary–the Angels are really creepy (and what they can do to you is even more frightening when you stop to think about it) but the house (almost feels like that needs to be capitalized) is beyond “haunted house creepy”–you’d almost expect Freddy Krueger or Leatherface to jump out at you.
