Teachers have been using comics in the classroom for decades. We’re even making comics for the classroom! Check out http://www.readingwithpictures.org, http://www.graphicclassroom.org, or my own http://www.solutionsquad.net! We’re very active in trying to put comics in the hands of kids to enhance their reading skills.

    • Jim… I apologize. I not only KNEW about Reading With Pictures, I gave to the kickstarter, am friends with about 1/2 of your contributors, and have asked you about 1,000 times to be in the next one! Consider this both an apology, and a redaction; Reading With Pictures absolutely BELONGS in each and every school.

I’ve had college professors contact me that they’ve used THE KENTS in the classroom and I wouldn’t be surprised if Tim Truman’s WILDERNESS has also been used.

When Alix was little and in elementary school, her teachers would invite me in to give a talk about writing, comics, and reading, Marc.

And as I’ve mentioned many times, I learned the meaning of “invulnerable” and that the Earth is 93,000,000 million miles from Earth from SUPERMAN.

And a couple of columns ago, I mentioned that Jeff (my son-in-law), who teaches remedial English at CUNY, is planning to use comics in the classroom.
