I think an important thing to consider with Marvel Now!, in comparison to the New 52, is that Marvel is rearranging creative teams and renumbering all the books (remember those “Still #495!” blurbs in Previews for their September 2011 solicitations?), but they aren’t shitcanning their existing continuity. I’m a trifle peeved at the fact that the 75th anniversary issue of “Detective Comics” was #5 instead of #886, but I’m more put off by the whole “nothing published before September 2011 counts” thing (which has exceptions, of course–all of Batman’s history still happened, but over five years instead of 15, and the same applies to Green Lantern. So, five Robins in five years and Hal’s gotten kicked out of the Green Lantern Corps roughly twice a year since he got the ring. Yeah, that works.).

My reaction to the New 52 was to pare down my DC order by about 60%. My Marvel Now! order will probably be about the same as my current Marvel order.

    • Paul you’ve made point I wholly agree with. The keeping of continuity is a good idea by Marvel. DC’s continuity debacle is like a looming cloud NO ONE there cares to deal with.
