I think you hit it on the head. As long as those in the industry don’t drink the kool-aid that Hollywood offers up and realize where much of what they (Hollywood) are patting themselves on the back for comes from, it will help to feed the hunger to come bigger and better time and again. As the old hip-hop quote said “Real Bad Boys move in silence…” Those in the comic industry who vibrate with that strength (like you Michael) and know the truth are the ones who will change things and earn the respect as they make headway into those areas of the industry that believe their own hype. Really looking forward to meeting you in person this week!

    • Looking forward to meeting you also Mark. Catch me after the Black Panel on Friday and I’ll hook you up with a invite to my party!

There will be punch and pie!

    “reasons to hate Mitt Romney”

Stopped reading there. Will always stop when I run into the hate spew. Thinking of unsubscribing to the site when I see the hate spew. Does it bother anyone else?

Not really, no. It’s less vitriolic than, say, Ann Coulter.
      .
      What’s your take on her?

    • ‘“reasons to hate Mitt Romney” is not hate speech-that’s satire. If you’re looking for hate speech try the Tea Party. When I decide to write something hateful, you’ll know it when you see it. Hell, Stevie Wonder will know it.

Heh. In one of “J.D.Robb”‘s SF procedurals about homicide cop Eve Dallas, Dallas asks her uniformed sidekick, Peabody, if something she just said was sarcasm.
        .
Peabody thinks a second and says “No – I don’t think so. It was too direct for sarcasm.”
        .

        Some people are sarcasm/parody/irony-challenged.

“It’s less vitriolic than, say, Ann Coulter.” Well, yeah. And the casually tossed-out remark here is far, far less than Bill Maher’s spew of venom as well. Can’t stand either one, but with their work, one expects such vitriol. Here, it’s jarring. It’s not a personal political opinion, just the casual presumptions of hate and that the reader is inside the circle. Sad, really. Not like I don’t find it everywhere now.

And… Sure, Michael, sure. Okay, leaving the site now. Thanks for the decisive impetus. Enjoy the echo chamber.

    • Believe it or not I’m sorry to see you go. I LIKE someone who has a point of view and is willing to defend it. I may not agree with you but I support your right to say whatever you want.

Funny-you did not strike me as someone who would cut and run.

      Pity.

I’m sorry. I live in a universe where it’s not at all unusual for MotU to make remarks like that.
