  1. Father’s Day for me is an opportunity to express love, gratitude and humility to the male parent who provided the gateway for my appearance in this world. More than commercial nonsense or fancy greeting cards, it is an honest statement of “Dear Father, I truly love you and seek your approval and forgiveness!”.

To me, Father’s Day is about showing appreciation for one of the people who has raised me and shown me love throughout my life. Although, he should be given the same amount of love and respect everyday. Just saying “I love you” means so much more than just buying an insignificant gift.

To me, Father’s Day is almost like every day. Every day I enjoy helping him out in whatever he needs – car wash, lawn mowed and mechanical work, etc. My father is a quadriplegic who cannot walk or use his hands. So on Father’s Day it is special day honor him and let him know that I am grateful that he survived his accident. It is a day to let him know I owe him (and my mom) a debt of gratitude for adopting me and letting me be the world’s most grateful daughter!
