As I said before, Joss Whedon is God! :-)

AMEN to all you said, John.

I’ve been a fan of Joss Whedon since “Dr. Horrible’s Sing-A-Long Blog,” combining TWO of my guily pleasures, Comic Books and American Musicals! And doing much more successfully than Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark. BTW, did you hear that Bono is now the RICHEST musician in the world? (He invested $90 million in facebook before it went public.)

    • Sean D. Martin says:

Actually, Bono’s previous net worth was estimated around $150 million and the gains made on “his” Facebook investment are shared with his partners in the venture capital group he’s part of. Reports are his net worth may close to double, but that still leaves him well short of McCartney’s net worth which is a bit shy of $1 billion.

Yeah, a shame when facts get in the omigod hype.

I agree with you about Michael Bay, but he did a television commercial (and I can’t remember what for, which means it wasn’t effective) where he said everything was awesome, and I loved that.

    • Sean D. Martin says:

Anytime someone recognizes their excesses and pokes fun at themselves is enjoyable. I don’t care for Bay’s movies, but I give him a nod for knowing what he is.

[…] John Ostrander on why Joss Whedon was the key to The Avengers’ box office success, and why he’s not an interchangable cog, that anyone directing and co-writing would’ve made it a hit. However, Hollywood is still entrenched in their thinking of The Way Things Are Done, and anything that proves them wrong is just a fluke. Even if it keeps happening over and over again.
