Dennis O’Neil: The Avengers Internationale

Dennis O'Neil

Dennis O'Neil was born in 1939, the same year that Batman first appeared in Detective Comics. It was thus perhaps fated that he would be so closely associated with the character, writing and editing the Dark Knight for more than 30 years. He's been an editor at Marvel and DC Comics. In addition to Batman, he's worked on Spider-Man, Daredevil, Iron Man, Superman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern/Green Arrow, the Question, The Shadow and more. O'Neil has won every major award in the industry. His prose novels have been New York Times bestsellers. Denny lives in Rockland County with his wife, Marifran.

    Hi,
I am in Argentina and I also lived in Italy for many years.
I say this because I think that the reason because the Avengers premiered in both countries (and many more) before the United States is that we have an holiday (May 1rst, International Day of Workers) and that meant that we just had a very long weekend (from Saturday to Tuesday), so the distribution departments must have thought to take profit of four days when people had a lot of time to go to the movies.
I already saw the movie twice, and I think it’s as great as we all expected (and even better, thanks to Joss), but I discovered yesterday that we didn’t have the post-credit scene. So you had your revenge.
Of course, the people who think that Obama is evil incarnate will prefer the other explanation…

What I’ll be seeing, in the following two-hour ecstasy fest, is the latest manifestation of the genius of Stan Lee. Years ago, before you were born, Mr. Lee revolutionized comic book publishing…

All on his lonesome? Tsk tsk.

And, to be nit picky: “so Stan wasn’t presenting mere stories, he was presenting stories that were PARK [sic] of a (more-or-less) coherent universe that you could (kind of) get to NOW [sic] …”

(Yes, my curmudgeon is coming out today.
