I’m with you, John. FIELD OF DREAMS is absolutely the most wonderful movie ever made with baseball as a background–’cause it’s not really about baseball.

    “Dad….

    “Want to have a catch?”

    Tears streaming down my face.

P.S.: Costner’s character is Ray Kinsella, John, not Joe.

Yeah, but Costner gives me the heebie jeebies.

By the way, John’s being modest when he talks about Mantegna. He wrote, along with an unbelievably talented actor named William J Norris, a play directed by Stuart Gordon called Bloody Bess. It toured the known universe. It gave Joe his big break. Dennis Franz and Meshach Taylor also starred in Bloody Bess.

    So there.

I remember that when i first heard that A League of Their Own was going to be made, the announced cast included Joan Jett. (That’s how i remember it, anyway.)

Film comes out – no Joan.

Always figured that it was because someone realised that Madonna would not look good with a black eye if she got too Hollywood on Joan…

Joan Jett — and it’s possible I actually overplay her on Weird Sounds Inside The Gold Mind (although she’s not on tonight’s show) — starred with Michael J. Fox and our dearly strange friend and mentor Del Close in Light Of Day. Did a nice job. Had about a dozen other acting gigs on screen and tube, and toured in Grease. She IS rock and roll.

I am displeased. You forgot the one where Bugs Bunny beats an entire team by himself.
