This got brought up elsewhere but there is a rumor that the Fantastic Four will return but the FF wil continue to run as a seperate title. I’m kind of for that idea. I’ve liked the dynamic of the ‘think tank’ that happens to involve most of the fantastic four since two of them, along with their kids are geniuses.

I don’t think many people believe Johnny would be gone forever, we never even saw a body. Ultimately I don’t mind of they do bring him back. Just like most people didn’t mind when Bucky came back, because it was told well. Make it a good story and you can get away with anything.

So true. Bucky being dead was sacrosanct for 40 years but the Winter Soldier storyline was so powerful and well-told that it was worth validating the “nobody ever dies in the comics” meme.

Actually, Jim Hammond has been back and active (and inactive, and active, and depowered and repowered….) since the late 80’s-early 90’s, during John Byrne’s run on West Coast Avengers. (As part of the Vision’s very own “Everything You Knew is Wrong!!!!” storyarc, which no comics character is complete without…)

  4. Heck, I think it’s only a matter of time before they bring Gwen Stacy back from the dead for good. Except for Uncle Ben and the Waynes, no one stays dead in comics.

Lance — Have your read Flashpoint lately?

    And… why?

  6. I spoke with cynicism. And apparently it almost happened as a result of OMD; not only was Harry to come back, but also Gwen, as part of a plan to retcon JMS’ “Sins Past” storyline, until a whole buncha editors talked Quesada out of it.

Haven’t read “Flashpoint,” don’t plan to. I no longer read DC or Marvel. Indies and creator-owned titles only from here on in.
