Transformers: The Japanese Collection Makes American Debut
We never quite cottoned to The Transformers in any incarnation but we do recognzie it has a fervent following. We also recognize the following news will be most welcome by diehard fans of the animated incarnation. It certainly will help pass the time until the third feature film is unleashed. Here’s the formal announcement:

I have terribly dubbed vCDs (remember those?) from the late 90s. The series will be very hard to get into for American audiences who are not die-hard Transformers fans.
Even as a diehard fan, I found it hard to enjoy at times. If I remember correctly, it was the first entirely Japanese-produced Transformers series and it definitely feels more like a hokey giant robot anime (the focus is on the human children for much of the series rather than the Transformers) than Transformers.
My wife wants this series, but she’s going to hold out for the complete series collection.
