ComicMix Six: The Best Major Battles of THOR!
[[[AVENGERS: THOR DISASSEMBLED!]]]
Thor vol. 2 #80-85
For years, Thor has been aware that his people live a life of cycles. They are born, they fight, they suffer through Ragnarok, the twilight of the gods where they die in battle. This has happened before and now it’s about to happen again. Ragnarok is here. And yet, there’s more to it than that. Thor has discovered that there are beings who had caused this cycle and who feed off the repeated death and rebirth of the Asgardians. Can he stop this cycle and free his people? Or will he be forced to live a life not entirely his own?
Written by Powers co-creator Michael Avon Oeming, this is a great story for anyone who’s ever read a Thor story before. It’s about destiny, responsibility, fear and friendship. What’s more, it serves as a great set-up for the modern-day Thor stories that began with J. Michael Straczynski rebooting the title a few years later.
