First Look At Adrianne Palacki As ‘Wonder Woman’
Entertainment Weekly* has the first photo of Adrianne Palacki as Wonder Woman in the new NBC TV series being planned for the fall, produced by David E. Kelley.
The observant will note the great similarities to the new costume designed by Jim Lee and launched by J. Michael Straczynski when he took over the series last year. As I suspected at the time, the new costume was at least partially influenced by the desire of getting an actress into something other than a one-piece bikini.
Elizabeth Hurley and Cary Elwes are also in the pilot cast. NBC’s upfront presentation is scheduled for May 16, so we’ll know by then if Wonder Woman will be picked up as a series.
- No real surprise here, as EW is owned by DC’s corporate parent. I think they had the inside track on this one.

Can’t say as i care for the vinyl/leather/whatever look.
The basic look is an improvement over the Jim Lee costume, especially the lack of the bolaro jacket. I like the boots much better than Lee’s black ones; too bad they have high heels (not very practical for a superheroine). Replace the vinyl pants with a material that doesn’t look like it’s going to shred as soon as she bends over and tweak the plastic bits so that they look more like metal and we have a reasonable WONDER WOMAN costume for the show.
Um…this looks like one of those cheap Wonder Woman Halloween costumes; and unfortunately, Adrianne Palicki looks like one of the women they get to model them. She’s tall and pretty but…kinda generic-looking.
Go to google image, and type in Cobie Smulders + Wonder Woman; I don’t say that Smulders should play Wonder Woman, and I think the colors for the costume she wears are too dull, but her costume seems more like something Princess Diana of the Amazons would wear. This one, and the one designed by Jim Lee, looks like it’d be more at home on a biker chick than a super heroine.
She looks more like a cheap pornstar.
Top Half o.k. Bottom Half Gotta Go.
