He's written and edited several Star Trek novels and is the author of The Essential Batman Encyclopedia. He's known for his work as an editor for Comics Scene, Starlog, and Weekly World News, as well as holding executive positions at both Marvel Comics and DC Comics.

    As to whether the Fawcett/Captain Marvel suit was a “black mark” or not – one might consider what may have been the most interesting bit of testimony, when Manly Wade Wellman said that he’d been hired to write CM, and handed a stack of Superman books and told “Like this, but different.”
