Velma is my favorite character because she’s the core of the group who keeps everything together and functional, while never hogging the glory. She could solve all the cases by herself, and probably faster and more efficiently, but she lets her friends have their fun (even if it’s running around like headless chickens half the time) and takes everything in stride. I think she’s someone everyone can empathize with to some degree, based on their own work experiences.

I have to agree with Brandon about Velma, but for different reasons.
While she is basically the “brains” of the outfit and does take everything in stride, the not hogging the glory part of her character description is more from a case of shyness than anything else.
Whether she could solve all the cases by herself faster and more efficiently is debateable, but it’s more important to her (character’s) intergrity that Velma realizes that the gang is not just a team, but long time friends, if not having evolved into some semblance of a family over the years they’ve been together as well.
