Oh – i dunno; Westerns weren't referred to a "horse opera" for no reason; you could prolly make a decent opera out of "Once Upon a Time in the West", even if you couldn't do it with a John Wayne film…

"Blaxploitation movie as a comic" is indeed doable. As a matter of fact, I publish a online comic strip called World Of Hurt, which I bill as "The Internet's #1 Blaxploitation Webcomic" (http://www.worldofhurtonline.com). However, unlike most works which revisit the Black action movies of the 1970s, I play it absolutely straight, not for laughs. Exploring this film genre from the standpoint of parody is a valid approach, but I chose to do something different, particularly since the early entries into what became known as "Blaxploitation" could, dramatically and thematically, stand toe-to-toe with any of the best films of the 1960…s or 1970s. Consider that Ernest Tidyman, creator of "Shaft" was also the screenwriter for "The French Connection." Jay Potts

Excellent review by Anderew. Sounds like the book is weird yet interesting. I had a look at Amazon, the price is even lower now. -William Hindley (will90_hindley@yahoo.com)

I must say that I've been into comics for years now, but I've never had a pleasure to experience a story such as "Vatican Hustle" and the style it presents. I will definetly look into that. But I already dont like something about it – "Pope as a hard-drinking guy", I hope it's not anything purposeful.ThanksTim SewelAuthor of <a>Zygor Guide

Tim/Zygor: If you're saying that you dislike depictions of religious leaders in a less-than-flattering light, you are not likely to enjoy Vatican Hustle.
