You think the "Yellow Submarine" (live action) remake is an unlikely idea – how about Bryan Singer's plans to remake "Excalibur"?(Love this line on IMDB.com: "Boorman's 1981 Excalibur was adapted from Thomas Malory's bestseller…")
I would be able to accept a remake/re-imagining of EXCALIBUR, before I could a remake (live or animated) version of YELLOW SUBMARINE. I mean, the film and music were such a period piece that I don't understand why anyone would think they could do it better. If you are not going to improve upon it (and how would you go about doing that, if I may ask) why do it in the first place? If you are going to change it, why not do something original?
