#SDCC followup: ‘Heroes’ Q&A with Tim Kring, Hayden Panettiere, Zachary Quinto, and more
Heroes has been losing viewers like Claire Bennet loses toes in the last season or two. A new volume might mean a new hope, but can they pull it out?
Tim Kring, the troubled show’s executive producer, along with panelists Jack Coleman (Noah Bennet), Masi Oka (Hiro Nakamura), Hayden Panettiere (Claire Bennet),
Adrian Pasdar (Nathan Petrelli), Zachary Quinto (Sylar), Milo Ventimiglia (Peter Petrelli), Robert Knepper (new villain Samuel), Dawn
Olivieri (new character Lydia), Ray Park (new character Edgar) and Madeline Zima (new character Gretchen Berg) were on hand at San Diego Comic Con to answer questions and show a trailer for Heroes Volume 4: Redemption. We weren’t there, but Newsarama was… (SPOILER WARNINGS, don’t say we didn’t tell you):
Still reading? Okay:
- The headlining “attraction” is that Panettiere, who
plays Claire the immortal cheerleader, shares an on-screen kiss with
Zima, who plays her new college roommate. Well, if nothing else boosts
ratings, that might. - The new story will revolve around a
traveling carnival made up of people with powers hiding in plain sight.
Knepper, who plays the leader of this carnival, says that they’ll be
trying to change their station and bringing the main characters in to
help. - Newsarama has answers from each member of the panel about what
their character is up to this season, but here’s some of the more
notable points: Noah Bennet is putting together a new Company (Hooray!)
while a sick Hiro travels through time (Boo) to meet his younger self
(Booooooooo). Ventimiglia claims Peter finally grew a sense of humor.
Quinto claims Sylar is now manifesting in Parkman’s mind. - The first episode airs September 23rd.

It was strange chatting with one of the show's new writers this past weekend and telling him I had never watched an episode. Equally strange, at least to the folks working there, was my turning down free tickets to a raffle of HEROES related stuff (including signed scripts) being handed out at the carnival set up across from the con. "You don't want one?" "No, but the free popcorn is fine, thanks."
cool story bro.
