Soon.Wasn't there a similar story published on ComicMix about "The Original Johnson" a few weeks ago? Then almost immediately the story was taken down? The announcement WAS that, the dispute that had kept "The Original Johnson" delayed for six months had been resolved with the help of a professional mediator and that it would be returning to ComicMix "soon." I noticed, because when I tried to write a comment on that story, by the time I hit the "ADD YOUR COMMENTS" button, the story had been deleted! That was frustrating. It's even more frustrating that there has been no other word about it on ComicMix since. Are you saying that "The Pilgrim" was delayed by developments in the Middle East? Or the "The Pilgrim" has been delayed so long that developments in the Middle East already make sections of "The Pilgrim" seem outdated and so sections needed to be rewritten? Why was "The Pilgrim" delayed for six months? Has the dispute that was professionally mediated between the creator of "The Original Johnson," Trevor Von Eeden and ComicMix returned? Is that why the story was pulled? Is it just a coincidence that "The Original Johnson" and "The Pilgrim" stopped production at the same time? Are those two stories related at all? Does the return of "The Pilgrim" mean there is hope for the return of "The Original Johnson" too? I had asked that same question in reverse a few weeks ago in a comment on a news story that was deleted.I'm a hardcore fan of ComicMix. ComicMix bills itself as a destination for Original Online Comics and News about Comics. At the beginning of the year, there were THREE excellent comics being published on ComicMix. For the last six months there has been ONE. And for a site devoted to talking about the business and news of comics, there has been almost no talk about "The Original Johnson" or "The Pilgrim" or WHY they have been on hiatus! Now we are told that "The Pilgrim" will be returning "soon." How soon is "soon"? Within the next week? The next month? The next six months?Ah heck, I'm still excited about the debut of "The Cryptozoo Crew" coming soon to ComicMix. That was announced last August.

Russ, who is peeing in your wheaties these days? They obviously pulled the O.J. Story for a reason, and bringing it up again probly isn't tickling anyone. As Lord Snooty says, let's just be pleased as punch we're getting some amazing work for free from these folks. As much of a noob I am in the business side of this industry, one thing I've learned is to appreciate that when something comes out, you celebrate it. Yes, comicmix has only had Lone Justice for a good long time, but it's not like these guys aren't working hard to get more material up here. In the mean time, we get to read a great story, where the artist COMMENTS back to us within a day! Where else could you get that kind of relationship with a creator? No where Russ, my friend… no where. If the comicmix crew is excited to give us a "coming soon" announcement, let's take them at their word, and get friggen excited, instead of stamp around the room, mmm kay? :)

The Comics are great! The comics have always been great! And Mark Wheatley's commentaries are exceptional. They are really the exception and not the rule. When new pages of "The Pilgrim" show up on ComicMix, I will sigh and give a hearty, "Huzzah!"But ComicMix is also supposed to be a NEWS site. They have done whole series of articles about the bankruptcies, inner-workings and turmoils of other comics companies. Where is the news and insight when it comes to ComicMix? Am I supposed to look to other sites for insights on ComicMix? Because I have. There isn't any. If the inner workings of comics companies are none of our beeswax, why has ComicMix done so many stories on them? The first news story that seemingly gave some promise that these unexplained delays would be over was pulled within minutes of it's posting. What did that mean? Did that mean the bottom fell out of whatever mediated settlement was reached between ComicMix and Trevor Von Eedon over "The Original Johnson"? I don't know. That article didn't even say what the dispute was about. Just that it wasn't about money or the quality of Von Eeden's work.I would love to get friggen excited. I was friggen excited when I saw the first few pages of "The Pilgrim" last year. It's friggen cool! So my friggen frustration has friggen grown for the past sixth months that it has been on hiatus without any explanation. The comics are great. They have been great. I'm sure they will continue to be great. Sincerely, the best on the inter-webs. But the news side, the concept that the readers deserve to be informed about what is going on, sucks.

I don't want to put words in the mouth of the powers that be… My only thought is that ComicMix is a great site, and if they CAN tell us something they DO. If they pull something, or refrain from going into specifics on their innerworkings… it's because they are tied up and shouldn't be so transparent about it. It happens everywhere else in the world. It sucks. But it's the world we live in. All we need to do is enjoy what we're given, and spread the word of it's awesomeness.
