Just came back from the theatre. Worries me that there were about twelve people in the theatre at a 4PM Friday show.I agree with the decision to change the McGuffin; but the true ending remains unchanged.

I saw it and its not better than the novel but it was still amazing the theatre was packed and i was blown away. Amazing visuals and its smart and has deep morals tht follow the novel. My problem is the ignorance of epopple of seeing ho great it was people who say what is this film they are lost and say its a joke they are so ignorant they dont know what a good movie is wen they hit on them. the moviewas great and sums up humanities dumbness as the people in the theatre to dumb to realize the smartness

A later thought – i suddenly realised how much Pixar's The Incredibles seems to owe to Watchmen … including a hero's cape causing his death and heroes forbidden to hero out at night doing rescue duty in a fire.

I saw it at midnight, enjoyed it for what it was, and ultimately feel that it delivered as well as it could have. Alan Moore's masterpiece is truly what as graphic novels should be, but as a movie, 'the watchmen' was what it was: A dense, depressing, black comedy about the what the world may be like with superheros.

Saw it yesterday and was surprised just how much I did like it. Sure there were a few problems, such as the changed ending (would the rest of the world really sing koom-by-ya when it was America's Superman/God that did all the destroying?) and leaving out Hollis Mason's murder, but overall I think Snyder did a fantastic job of distilling the story.http://www.igp-scifi.com

Ummm, IGPNicki – do you really need to include spoilers? That nitpick aside – i think it's more likely to work thatn the gimmick in the original comic.

I was quite happy with this adaptation. No, it's not the book. I agree with Moore that the entire novel is unfilmable; it's far to dense to be packed into a movie (a 12-part mini-series, however, just MIGHT be possible). The IMAX theater I went to was packed, and all the showings were sold out in advance.
