I think part of the problem is that the film missed its chance. Everybody "knows" that Phantom Menace wasn't all that great shakes, and if one really made seeing it one's final wish before death, I think you'd feel a tad cheated. So there's an assumption that you know the ending.

As if knowing the ending to a movie made any difference to how much we will enjoy it. I'm going to go see HSM 3. I bet Troy and Gabriella have some trouble with their relationship. I bet Sharpay has something to do with that. But then I bet they sing a song and get back together by the end. Hey! That sounds like a good movie. I hope it's directed by Kenny Ortega! He directed "Newsies" and "Hocus Pocus" way back in the early nineties. Then, for some reason, Ortega couldn't get another major movie deal! Huh? No way! It's TRUE! Now, I hear Kenny is working on "Footloose the Musical" for 2010 release! I hear that one ends with a big dance number. "I gotta cut FOOTLOOSE!" Can't wait.
