And hordes of angry internet fans to decry the movie as the worst thing ever filmed in three, two, one…

The leaked plot of the film version that wasn't made also helped to disappoint us furrther.

When Crystal Skull started I thought I was seeing a trailer for a movie about CG-gophers. Crystal Skull isn't the worst thing ever filmed, but it's the least of the Indiana Jones movies — on par with either of the Mummy sequels. My biggest disappointment was with the origin of the Crystal Skulls and it didn't help that Indy (and the extended family) spent the ending action sequence staring at special effects.
