The second hour was muuuuch better than the first. I think the twist at the end is a little Darth Vader-ish for my taste — or a little too Golbez-y if you wanna get REAL nerdy — but I’m willing to see it through. It’s just nice seeing Sylar resume his role as the world’s worst barber.

All about the second hour. At last, the crossover I have always wished for has happened. TRON and GREATEST AMERICAN HERO in the same story! Genius!

And way to give us some serious “let’s burn people in the streets” villains rather than sticking to shadowy manipulators and creepy serial killers who strike from the shadows. Time for some straight up fights.

I was just as relieved to find a decent story, plotting, and better pacing in last night’s episodes. It was great to see William Katt back in action, which was quite a relief after the last role I saw him in on an episode of “House” where he sleepwalked his way through emotionlessly. He was vibrant and alive, working with his strengths as a passionate actor! What a great nod to include him in this series.I’m not sure if we saw Nikki or her twin last night, so we’ll see where they go from here. My only major qualm was that they seemed to telegraph a lot of the things going on. I don’t want to say everything was predictable, but I found myself knowing within minutes of what would happen next to several characters, and mouthing dialog well ahead of character responses. Which is gratifying on one hand to see where I’m right, and annoying to know where they’re going on the other. There’s quite a bit to come that looks interesting, and I hope for many more surprises along the way!

WGA-strike-incurred storytelling warbles aside, I'll stipulate that it's a good show, and rightfully popular. But as a guy who's read comic books for decades, I can see all the influences, all the homages to previous comics classics. And Heroes isn't better than any of its comics antecedents. It's not worse, certainly, but it's not better than what I've already known. For viewers who haven't grown up with affection for Watchmen and Days of Future Past and time-travelling heroes changing history and all sorts of other things, Heroes is, and ought to be, astounding television. But for me, it just feels like I've been there before.

I actually need to go back and watch both hours a second time, as I was more tired than I thought last night and sort of faded out a few times here and there. It wasn't anything to do with the show itself, just the combination of a long workday and staying up too late the night before. Go to commercial, close eyes, and Hey! I just missed ten minutes of the show! Damn!I really liked the effect they used to show Daphne's super-speed and Hiro's time-arresting power used in combination.

I’m done with this show. Just don’t care. Plus, Holy Crap! Claire is totally a cutter. Very disturbing.

I thought it was very much a mixed bag. I'm not sure it's that much better than last season. I'm not ready to stop watching, but things will have to get more interesting and not so obviously borrowing from elsewhere — I mean, Suresh = Jeff Goldblum in "The Fly"? Really?
