‘Veronice Mars’ goes to the Movies
Entertainment Weekly’s Michael Ausiello has been one of the biggest supporters of Veronica Mars, the three season CW semi-hit that always had more buzz than ratings. It did turn Kristen Bell into a star and helped creator Rob Thomas land additional work such as a revival of his Cupid for ABC.
Ausiello has been covering the growing rumors that a Veronica Mars feature film might happen and now it seems to be closer to a reality. Producer Joel Silver, also a fan of the show, has gotten Warner Bros. interested in the notion of a movie version. Thomas would write the feature for Silver and Bell has also indicated she’d happily return as the student turned sleuth.
When Thomas tried a Hail Mary attempt at a fourth season, he posited Veronica would have been recruited to work for the FBI. For the movie, though, he’d send her to college and deal with a big campus mystery.
We here at ComicMix are also fans and will be keeping an eye on developments.
Goodie
This is good news.I was sad to see the series go away.
I've yet to see a single episode, and now that a potential film is in the works, looks like I need to get my butt in gear.
Er, the movie wouldn't "send" her to college, since she was already in college in the show's third season……………….
I hope the movie does get made, i have supported Veronica Mars from the beginning. In Aus they only played a few episodes, and i was hooked. So I had to go and buy all the seasons of this show. As it wasn't going to be played again in Aus.
hope so, it was the best show on tv
This is such good news! I
This is terrific news! Let's hope they can put it together. There can be so many hang ups between twixt and tween. Veronica is one of the greatest characterizations in TV history. Give Kristen Bell her due, she created this role and no one else could play it.
that would be the most incredible tv/movie news for people who actually enjoy good acting and plots…i hope rob thomas can get to it.. there is a demand
OMG!!! i love this show, im currently half way through season two and am really sad to think once ive finished season two and then season three {which wont take me long, trust me!} my experience will be over! but hey a movie would soften the blow a little=]
got hooked on the veronica (since theres nothing to do on tuesdays between 7pm and when the bands start playing down the street). excited that thomas gave us a teaser of veronicas 4th season by sending her to FBI school. however was a bit miffed when veronica got cancelled -especially since the wb (cw, wc or -whatever flavor they want to call their network this week) trowels out sooo much crap already, and never gets cancelled. -must be producers making deals with the devil to save their shows. on a strange twist: -reaper took her place -not a bad show -however weary of investing time in anything that will get the axe as soon as we gain any interest.
The FBI storyline would be terrible. Rob Thomas' original idea to return to college was very interesting, making the cancellation even more heartbreaking since season 3 set up so many storylines for season 4.

a Veronica Mars movie would be amazing! I just watched the whole series in 1 week and totally LOVE it. I was really upset to find out that it got cancelled because the 3rd season left a lot of story lines open and I think a movie would be a great way to sum everything up! It would be even more amazing if ALL of the cast came back, not just Kristen Bell.
YAAAAAAAAAAYYY !!!!!!!!!! ;D
This is such good news!!love the show !! that good that it taken place at the college!
this is the BEST SHOW EVER!!! i love it!! i was soooo upset when it got cancelled coz the ending of season 3 no offence was soo crap! soo xcited for da movie coz i really want veronica and logan to get together or they should bring duncan back!
