SDCC: Little Earthquakes, by Martha Thomases

Martha Thomases

Martha Thomases brought more comics to the attention of more people than anyone else in the industry. Her work promoting The Death of Superman made an entire nation share in the tragedy of one of our most iconic American heroes. As a freelance journalist, she has been published in the Village Voice, High Times, Spy, the National Lampoon, Metropolitan Home, and more. For Marvel comics she created the series Dakota North. Martha worked as a researcher and assistant for the author Norman Mailer on several of his books, including the Pulitzer-Prize-winning Executioner's Song, On Women and Their Elegance, Ancient Evenings, and Harlot's Ghost.

Glad you went to the conference so you have fun and tell us about. Glad you got to see your son. Gladder still that you're home safe.I'm at an educational theatre conference in Denver until tomorrow night, when I take off after I read my paper on show biz gossip as performance (and before anybody's lawyers can catch me, I hope). It's been a great, very renewing conference, but I really missed my comics. And I don't carry a backpack. Just a rolling computer bag. And I avoided the opening reception because I didn't want to kneecap anybody with it…at least, not accidentally.Frank
