    >>Dextrus tells The Doctor, "She is returning." Does he mean former companion Rose, who made a surprise appearance at the end of the previous episode?>>Or is it the mysterious hand that picked up the Master's ring at the end of Last of the Time Lords? The Fact File over at the BBC site points out the various nods to The Romans and City of Death and the "Barcelona" reference to Fawlty Towers. There is a nice discussion of the episode over athttp://millenniumelephant.blogspot.com/2008/04/da…which also discusses that the Big Finish "Fires of Vulcan" story can still fit in with what we see here.

Donna is having an interesting effect; just as the ninth and tenth Doctor(s), more than any prevous incarnations so far as i recall, like to poke things to see what will happen, Donna is acting as a sort of moderating (or modifying) effect on the Doctor rather more than previous companions. Most companions – save, say, Romana – have tended to be along for the ride.Donna wants to be a partner. This could lead to Interesting Effects down the road. This MIGHT be a mild SPOILER:Or it might not…SPOILERSPACESpeaking of the TARDIS having a mind of its own – keep that in mind when you watch the upcoming Sontaran two-parter.
