My favorite comment about the Luthor election. Fan at a con asks the DC panel, "How believeable is it that the entire country would be tricked into voting for such an evil mastermind?" One creator replies, "Did you…follow the last Presidential election?"

I immediately thought of the election of Ken Wind for President in the Elektra Assassin mini-series by Frank Miller and Bill Sienkiewicz. Also, lets not forget the long running political campaigns in Cerebus th Aardvark! This was at the center of the "High Society" and "Church and State" story arcs. This might be the longest and most complex political campaign (and parody) ever portrayed in comics!

I got a "Vote Lex" pin slipped into my bag one week when I bought my comics. I took it home and pinned it over the "S" on the cape of my Krypto plush toy. ;-)
